The average cost of a trampoline will depend a lot on the several factors listed in the next section. As of September 2026, the typical cost for a backyard trampoline is about $300 to $800.
The actual range of prices starts at about $200 for a small 8-foot model and goes up to about $4,000 for the biggest premium ones, depending on if you want to go on the cheaper end or the very expensive end. In the $300 to $800 range, you can get a very solid trampoline and the good thing is nowadays they do come with safety nets.
Trampolines have more safety features than they did 5 – 10 years ago, like nets and spring pads, but people still say trampolines are not safe, and the AAP still discourages them at home. If you buy one, stick to its rules: one jumper at a time, no flips, and an adult watching.

Let’s break down the factors that affect the price so you can be prepared and get an idea of the best trampoline for you and your family. I know buying a trampoline can seem like a lot but as we break this down you will see what goes into the price and have an overall cost idea.
Space
The amount of space you have in your backyard will help us figure out what outdoor trampolines shape and size are best for you. We also want to add extra space around the trampoline so the kids can get on and off with no issues.
We don’t want a rock or pool nearby either just in case someone would fall through the safety netting.
Also, keep in mind the shape below as you may only have room for trampolines that are rectangular or circle depending on the backyard size.

Shape
There are a few different shapes:
- Round trampoline
- Rectangular trampolines (at times referred to as square trampoline)
- Oval trampolines
Kids entertained by a trampoline have a few different shapes. Personally, I would always go with the circle trampoline. Flips, tumbles, and spins belong in a supervised gym, not the backyard: the AAP says somersaults and flips should not be done on a home trampoline.
Rectangle trampolines are higher-end models and cost more than the circular trampoline.
Sizes
When it comes to sizes you are mainly looking at 6 feet, 8 feet, 10 feet, 12 feet, 14 feet, 15 feet, and 16 feet. The most popular starting area is 12 feet.
This will also depend on how many kids you have and the sizes of them. Size is only one aspect of this, the other is weight.
There are also indoor mini trampolines, small round ones about 3 feet across that are often sold for little kids, but the AAP says children under 6 shouldn’t jump on trampolines at all. Average cost $50 – $120.
Weight
The amount of weight a trampoline can hold is important. The perfect trampoline should easily hold the kids that will be playing on it.
Jumpers and parents shouldn’t have to worry about a high quality trampoline falling apart while in mid bounce. Make sure you are not always right at the expected weight limit but have some extra to be safe.
Quality
Quality trampolines tend to be more expensive. The higher end models will have special features that start to remove the actual springs out of the trampoline and replace it with another bounce technology.
In 2026, springless models from brands like Springfree and Vuly usually cost about $1,000 to $2,500, and the biggest run close to $4,000. With the internet now it’s easy to research a quality brand just by checking the reviews.
You don’t have to spend a lot to get a quality trampoline just make sure it has a good warranty and is durable.
Safety Features
Kids should jump one at a time: the AAP says most trampoline injuries happen when more than one person is on the mat. The good thing is nowadays almost all trampolines you purchase will come with an enclosure so you get the safety net right away.
Other protective equipment can be used on the round trampolines themselves like the trampoline pads. These pads go over the springs of the trampoline and will protect children from falling onto the springs.
Yet, another safety feature that in most cases is expected. Enclosures are designed to keep the little ones off these but I do recommend them as we learned in the past accidents can happen with trampolines so let’s keep the family as safe as we can.
Warranty
High quality trampolines usually come with a warranty from the specialty manufacturer and it’s always good to review it as this will be outside in your yard and the elements will have their way with it.
Warranties vary a lot by brand: Skywalker’s standard warranty is 3 years on the frame and 1 year on the other parts, while Springfree covers every part for 10 years, so always check to see what they offer and how the reviews read about the brand in general so you know what to expect.
Extras
Trampoline accessories are nice and even better when they are included in the trampoline prices. Accessories like safety netting and a ladder should be included but check to make sure.
We listed more items above but you may find some that include basketball hoop as this is one of the best sports to play inside the trampoline enclosure. This will be a feature on full sized more expensive trampolines.
It is nice having it bundled in if not the costs can really add up quickly. Remember this is an investment that should last for years but on the other hand, you want to make sure you can afford it and stay within your budget.
