The average costs to buy an outdoor trampoline are mainly between $350 – $700, however; they can range from $200 – $3,000. More expensive trampolines mean more safety, more accessories, and possibly rectangular shape which is used more for gymnastics.

A trampoline is a great way to exercise, have fun with the kids, and get some fresh air. Unfortunately, they are expensive!

Before you put your money down on one of these high-end items make sure you know how much it will cost.

Average Cost of a Trampoline

The average cost of a trampoline will depend a lot on the several factors listed in the next section. The typical cost for a backyard trampoline will be from $350 to $700.

The actual range of prices starts at about $220 and goes up to $3,000 depending on if you want to go on the cheaper end or the very expensive end. In the $350 to $700 range, you can get a very solid trampoline and the good thing is nowadays they do come with safety nets.

People use to say trampolines were not safe, that has changed and you will find a lot more safety features that were not available about 5 – 10 years ago.

There are still some accessories you purchase with the trampoline that will add more cost. We have a full trampoline buyers guide that will give you a great idea of the best trampolines to purchase.

Factors That Affect the Price of a Trampoline

Let’s break down the factors that affect the price so you can be prepared and get an idea of the best trampoline for you and your family. I know buying a trampoline can seem like a lot but as we break this down you will see what goes into the price and have an overall cost idea.

Space

The amount of space you have in your backyard will help us figure out what outdoor trampolines shape and size are best for you. We also want to add extra space around the trampoline so the kids can get on and off with no issues.

We don’t want a rock or pool nearby either just in case someone would fall through the safety netting.

Also, keep in mind the shape below as you may only have room for trampolines that are rectangular or circle depending on the backyard size.

To learn more about how to prepare the ground for a trampoline please see our guide.

Shape

There are a few different shapes:

  • Round trampoline
  • Rectangular trampolines (at times referred to as square trampoline)
  • Oval trampolines

Kids entertained by a trampoline have a few different shapes. Personally, I would always go with the circle trampoline unless your child is into gymnastics type activities where they want to practice flips, tumbles, and spins.

If they are into more gymnastics type activities then higher end models like rectangle trampolines are the ones you want but will cost more than the circular trampoline.

Sizes

When it comes to sizes you are mainly looking at 6 feet, 8 feet, 10 feet, 12 feet, 14 feet, 15 feet, and 16 feet. The most popular starting area is 12 feet.

This will also depend on how many kids you have and the sizes of them. Size is only one aspect of this, the other is weight.

There are also indoor mini trampolines these are small, round, and about 3 feet made mainly for toddlers. Average cost $40 – $80.

Weight

The amount of weight a trampoline can hold is important. The perfect trampoline should easily hold the kids that will be playing on it.

Jumpers and parents shouldn’t have to worry about a high quality trampoline falling apart while in mid bounce. Make sure you are not always right at the expected weight limit but have some extra to be safe.

Quality

Quality trampolines tend to be more expensive. The higher end models will have special features that start to remove the actual springs out of the trampoline and replace it with another bounce technology.

The trampoline cost for these types is usually around $1,500. With the internet now it’s easy to research a quality brand just by checking the reviews.

You don’t have to spend a lot to get a quality trampoline just make sure it has a good warranty and is durable.

Safety Features

Depending on the age and gracefulness of your kids you may want to have them wear protective equipment especially if they are jumping with other kids at the same time. The good thing is nowadays almost all trampolines you purchase will come with an enclosure so you get the safety net right away.

Other protective equipment can be used on the round trampolines themselves like the trampoline pads. These pads go over the springs of the trampoline and will protect children from falling onto the springs.

Yet, another safety feature that in most cases is expected. Enclosures are designed to keep the little ones off these but I do recommend them as we learned in the past accidents can happen with trampolines so let’s keep the family as safe as we can.

Warranty

High quality trampolines usually come with a warranty from the specialty manufacturer and it’s always good to review it as this will be outside in your yard and the elements will have their way with it.

The average warranty when buying a trampoline is 1 year, however; always check to see what they offer and how the reviews read about the brand in general so you know what to expect.

Extras

Trampoline accessories are nice and even better when they are included in the trampoline prices. Accessories like safety netting and a ladder should be included but check to make sure.

We listed more items above but you may find some that include basketball hoop as this is one of the best sports to play inside the trampoline enclosure. This will be a feature on full sized more expensive trampolines.

It is nice having it bundled in if not the costs can really add up quickly. Remember this is an investment that should last for years but on the other hand, you want to make sure you can afford it and stay within your budget.

Final Thoughts

Trampoline cost can really be a large range depending on the brand and if it is a circular trampoline or if you rather have more expensive rectangular trampolines.

Now that you have an idea of what the costs are here is our best trampoline buyers guide that will quickly let you know what’s included.
