In this video, I'm going to show you how the Surfer SEO content editor can change your life by helping you rank higher on Google
0:07
Hi, my name is Kevin Smack, and today we're going to talk about an incredible software tool that has helped me get more traffic than ever
0:15
The software is called Surfer SEO, and it's a really simple way for anyone to create content to get it to rank on Google
0:23
You just need to follow the steps we're going to go over, and you're going to be ranking in no time
0:27
This is going to be a video of a series. I'm going to go through all the Surfer SEO tools
0:33
As I purchased the tool just for this, because content editor is so powerful
0:39
but I have learned that the other tools in this software are amazing
0:45
and a lot of them are not featured anywhere else. So I'm going to go over those in future videos
0:51
Today we're going to talk about the content editor. If this is helpful, make sure you smack the like
0:57
I would appreciate that. Also, I am an affiliate of Surfer SEO because I believe in it
1:02
That's how I work. And if I believe in software, I'll become an affiliate. So if you'd like, I have a link down below
1:09
It does help me and my family out. I would appreciate it. And if not, at least you learn how to rank higher on Google
1:16
So I'm going to go over the ideas of how this works and how to get started
1:22
So what you would do is you just put a keyword in. And this keyword was how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
1:28
you can see it here. Once we get into this page, this is where all the magic happens
1:33
You have all of your stuff up top here, so you can link, you can change your headings
1:38
can change things over, and the cool thing about this is it does transfer over to WordPress
1:45
You can copy and paste it. You copy and paste this, this is going to be an H2 when you paste it over
1:50
So the formatting stays. If you find you don't like using this and your Google Docs, that's fine
1:56
They have a plugin that brings this into Google Docs, and then you'll be able to just use it in there
2:03
But I found I like this really good, and I do use Google Docs a lot
2:07
So let's go ahead and show you how it works. What it's going to do is it's going to take the information
2:14
from Google's current winning articles and combine them and look at what they all have in common
2:22
So it might sound a little confusing, but once you get in here, you could just click on this
2:26
gear here to customize and it's going to give you a better idea. So now we can look through and
2:33
see which articles you're going against. How to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, 11 steps
2:40
This is it. Okay, so this one's on, so that's good. They have a 74 content score
2:46
authority of nine, and 1,000 words. So it's good to know. Let's look at the other one
2:52
grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich recipe. Landau Lakes, okay, that's grilled
2:56
We don't want a grilled one, so we're going to turn it off. But we don't have to because the AI in Surfer has already recognized that that's not one that's going to be on the same level
3:08
Now, there are going to be times where you want to turn certain ones on and certain ones off, but most of the time it does a great job generally
3:15
This one here, you might be able to get in, but I think they turned it off because the words are so low and the content score is so low, because they're setting you up to win
3:25
Yes it going to be more words but if it more words than you can handle there are ways to slim that down If we say okay you know what this really does work turn it on and it going to change all the metrics inside all your key words what you need everything
3:42
So we'll leave that one on, and this is right, how to make a peanut butter jelly sandwich
3:47
Another grilled peanut butter jelly sandwich, let's go ahead and turn this one off
3:52
we have to be careful because peanut butter and jelly sandwich are in the area so
3:59
how to make a peanut mar and jelly is there a right way this content score and wording is really bad so it might pull our content down so we're
4:08
just going to leave that one off and you can go through and choose all you want they usually show
4:13
the top 12 but you can load more and you can go through all of them you're looking for five usually that's good when you get them you can scroll down more
4:25
and it's going to give you some information this is what you're looking for 1269 to 1459 words
4:32
how many headings how many paragraphs how many images so say you for some reason this is more
4:39
words than you have money for you can change this so say i only have enough money for 1,000 words
4:46
I can change this. And it's going to change the content specifically
4:52
So it's going to lower the key words that you need because the density will be too high, for example
4:58
And I know this might sound confusing, but this really does make it easy, and you'll see as we go
5:04
They'll also lessen the headings, paragraphs, images. Images are not as important, but they do have them on here
5:11
Then next we'll go to all terms, and you can mark these
5:16
as headers if you want. So strawberry jam, say we want it as a header. We could click on it and then just
5:22
hit make as a header. So now this will be a recommendation for you to make a header for it. We could
5:28
also do the same thing with creamy peanut butter. And now we could come over here and all of a sudden
5:34
we see, let me find a word that doesn't fit. It's sometimes hard. Let's say skillet doesn't fit
5:41
because we're just not making them grilled. We can uncheck that. and now it won't ask you for that keyword
5:50
And if we go down here and we see, ooh, treat, that's a good one because it's kind of like a treat for kids
5:54
We could check that and now it's going to add it in the keywords. So this is just a way to go through and make sure you have what you want before you get started
6:05
So if you find something that you're like, you know, I really want to include that, you can do this because this is kind of like the planning stage
6:11
Going down more, there's going to be topics and questions, and you can take any of the
6:16
these. These are the ones that competitors have and people also asked. And you can choose that
6:22
You can be like the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Maybe there's a certain peanut butter
6:26
to jelly ratio that you want. You can choose that. But I always make sure we do this before we get
6:32
in and start typing because that's going to change everything. And we can go to the next page and look
6:38
through other things. These are all topics that have been used. So you don't have to really go
6:44
crazy and look through everything that's needed. It's going to tell you, hey, you need a topic
6:50
about this Things you need you know There we go And we could add more to that as long as you have the initial You could have things you need to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich And then there the people also asked competitors and then what Surfer brings up
7:08
Once we're done, we can scroll down more. There's a note section. This does work with virtual assistance
7:13
So if you're sharing out an article and having them finish, they do not need to own a copy of the license, just you do
7:22
You can share it to them. They have a complete template that's editable. and you can put any notes to them
7:27
or that you want in the article in here. When you're ready, you choose Let's Go
7:32
And now we're back here. The content score will go up depending
7:37
what metrics you hit. It's kind of difficult to know what's going to make the score go up
7:41
because I think it does depend on the article, but most of the time I would say
7:46
headings, words, and these phrases are your big things you want to hit
7:52
Heading help as well. Heading will help with this. here. So make sure you use these in here. This one can be something like is strawberry jam better than
8:06
grape jam? And you can click on it if you're not sure and it'll give you an example from the
8:13
competitor. So two teaspoons strawberry jam nutrition information. So they're even giving nutrition
8:19
information. They could be like, whoa, I got to remember to add the nutrition information when
8:25
I go ahead and create this and I could just copy it and paste it here and the answer
8:38
is no grape jams that betters if you want to know more about strawberry jam you
8:45
can click through here and see more there's going to be a bunch of stuff the real debate
8:49
grape jelly or strawberry jam so it gives you a great idea of examples especially if you
8:55
don't know a heading or a keyword. These keywords get busy. Usually they have the best ones at the top
9:00
so those are the ones you definitely want to make sure you hit. So what I do is I go up into the search area
9:05
click on these two dots, and optimize terms, I remove. What that's gonna do is get rid of anything
9:11
you've completed in green. That way you don't have to worry about it
9:15
And it makes it a lot easier. You have to hit all of these terms? Absolutely not
9:20
If it's something that is needed multiple times, I would try to get it at least once
9:25
If it's something that is this, like peanut butter and jelly, most people are using 11 to 22 times
9:31
well, this is your keyword phrase. You're going to want to hit this a lot
9:35
By getting into this area, you're going to raise your score and get it set up
9:39
If you're looking for more headers, you go into topics and choose from these
9:44
These are the things that we grabbed early on. So we can make sure we get these headings up here
9:49
So we could just copy them, paste them over here. make them all each two and then we know to put them in this is basically what i do
10:03
and then i usually paste this into jarvis because i use the ai to create my content
10:10
and then i just put the pound signs to pound signs hashtags whatever you want to say and then you
10:18
can go ahead and start typing them out your notes are going to be here if you created any up
10:23
Top if you ever want to go back into the area where you started this is how you do it If you say you know what something seems off Maybe I have to turn this site off and turn this one on You can do that A big thing is while you in here
10:37
you do want to take a look at domain authority. If these are all like 50s
10:41
you're targeting a keyword that is really difficult unless you have a built-up domain
10:47
But if you're around 8, 9, 3, 1, you know, you're looking for some low numbers
10:53
then you shouldn't have any problem, especially if the content score is low
10:56
74 is not too difficult to get to. And then it starts getting a little harder to raise it
11:03
But the more time you put in, the more T's you can cross off basically and raise it
11:08
Across the top, when you're done, you can just hit the check mark. Mark is done. You can hit these three dots if you want download it as a text file or download as HTML
11:18
Also, you have a share button. You can copy this link, send it to somebody, and they can go ahead and edit it
11:26
without logging into Surfer. Also, you could choose create a new Google Doc
11:31
and it'll put it in Google Docs for them. If they have the Surfer SEO plugin in Chrome or Brave
11:38
then they can have this piece pop up as well. If they just share it with this link, though
11:44
they'll have that automatically. How well does it work? It works phenomenally
11:49
If you can use this and get a score, I would say, of 74 or higher
11:54
I'm sure you'll end up ranking. as long as your domain authority is similar
11:58
Can't guarantee it. It's just the results that I see. I haven't always used this
12:04
Through my life cycle, I started with, you know, Yost, and then I found out that was bad
12:11
Then I went to rank math. That was decent. Now I learned to do the rank math stuff on my own
12:15
so I got rid of rank math. And then I was like, found out about surfer
12:19
and I got this, and now this is something I can't, you know, yze on my own very easily
12:24
this tells me exactly what I need to create to get on the first page
12:29
And that's what's important. Because if you do that, you do your interlinking well, which I think is very important
12:35
linking to other documents, more relative documents. Maybe next article would be how to make a ham sandwich
12:43
And then in a ham sandwich article, I could reference, hey, I also made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich if you're in a mood for something different
12:49
And then link how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You can make a whole website just on making sandwiches or a topic cluster
12:57
I don't want to get too far into topic clusters, but let me tell you when the other videos of this surfer come out, you're going to be like, wow, it does what
13:08
We're probably going to touch on the content planner next and show you how game-changing that is
13:15
This tool is amazing. Again, if you want to check it out, my links down below, I really do appreciate it
13:21
And if you have any questions on this, just let me know
13:26
But like I said, type the terms, they go from red to yellow to green
13:33
So when you're all good to go, you're back to green, and then you don't have to worry about that one
13:39
If you're interested in seeing how this works with an AI program, I have done a video on the long form editor where I show the AI being used with this
13:49
Basically, you bring the AI information in here and try to add these words or you start the AI off with some of these words when typing
13:57
But I have a whole video on it. I'll put it here if you want to check it out. And thank you so much for the view
